Remodelling with purpose

Alteration Haven is a tailoring and clothing alterations studio in Izmir focused on redesign, fit updates, and thoughtful upcycling. We work with garments that still have value, even when their shape or details no longer suit the wearer.

Our process starts with a close review of the garment, its construction, and the requested change. From there, we discuss what can realistically be achieved and prepare a clear project scope before any work begins.

Our story

Our story

Built for customers who want clothing altered, restyled, or remade with respect for the original piece.

Alteration Haven was founded in 2023 by Aylin Yılmaz to bring alteration work and garment remodelling together in one studio. The goal is simple: help customers keep wearing pieces they value while making them more practical, more current, or more personal.

We support vintage clothing owners, sustainability minded customers, and anyone bringing a meaningful garment for redesign. Every project is reviewed for fabric condition, construction, and the limits of the existing material before a concept is approved.

Our work includes redesign consultations, dress and skirt remodelling, shirt and jacket restyling, vintage fit updates, and fabric-reuse accessory projects. Each piece is handled as a custom project rather than a standard off-the-rack adjustment.

What we stand for

Values that guide every project

A careful, practical approach to alterations and upcycling for garments that deserve another chapter.

01

Clear assessment

We begin with a garment and material assessment so the project can be discussed honestly. This helps set a realistic scope, a clear quote, and a practical approach before remodelling starts.

02

Thoughtful reuse

When the design allows it, we reuse original fabric, thread, and trim to keep the garment's character intact. If matching materials are needed, they are confirmed separately based on availability.

03

Defined scope

We prepare a written alteration scope so the agreed work is easy to follow. That keeps the concept, fit expectations, and finishing details aligned from approval through collection.

04

Realistic results

Our workshop handles each piece with attention to construction details and fitting limits. Final results depend on the garment itself, so we do not promise outcomes that the fabric or structure cannot support.
